I don't think there is any greater way to see the land we live in - than to take a road trip. I recently had the priviledge of driving toward Sevierville, TN to meet up and see my grandchildren, daughter and son-in-law. They were visiting from Florida to attend the Richardson Family Reunion....it was the first time all the Richardsons were in the same place at the same time!
I wanted to take the opportunity to get my pregnant daughter some maternity clothes that I had been collecting since I learned of her new pregnancy. She has given all her maternity clothes away thinking that she wasn't going to have any more children. Ha ha! Surprise!!!
I stayed with them for the day and night and left the next day to see my son Josh, who now lives in Kingsport, TN. I didn't realize how spectacularly beautiful it is there!!! After having lunch and visiting Josh for a while, I took off and drove down to South Carolina to see my son Matt and his wife Jessie - and also meet up with Steve who had been there for a few days already - working on a job there.
The next day I took off for home. All in all - it was a beautiful drive! However, it was a tad hairy at times due to having so many thunderstorms along the route I took. Whew! besides the rain though - it was so beautiful! I love the mountains of East Tennessee and the Smoky Mountains....they are breathtaking. Here are some pictures of my travels.
