Transitional Times....

Our empty nest has been partially filled temporarily while my son Chris goes through a transitional period of time to regroup and relocate his life to Bowling Green, Kentucky. He plans to transfer his job and hopeful to resume his college endeavors as soon as possible. Being that we are closer to Bowling Green - than Nashville....this was a likely choice.
Meanwhile, he is back at home....and willing to adhere to our expectations!
We did a lot of research in trying to decide what we needed to do to make this transitional period as smooth as possible....
We studied and googled the Internet with rebound kids....returning home after being out on their own. After reading many articles on the subject - it was sugested that a contract be written outlining our house rules.
We wrote a contract and listed out expectations in every detail...so we could head-off any unforeseen problems that may lay ahead!
We studied, read, and educated ourselves with the do's and don'ts of adult children returning home. We want our kids to be successful in life and get a good start. Hopefully this transitional period will help to enable him to get out on his own.
So far - it seems to be a smooth transition. I'll keep you posted.
Here are some articles we read:
